Reminiscences collected by the Fox Valley Symphony as part of Ellis Island: The Dream Of America project, describing the immigrant experience of several residents from the Fox Valley, Wisconsin, area whose ancestors had come through Ellis Island or who were immigrants themselves. The recollections discuss topics such as labor, travel, and countries of origin several of which also include copies of family photographs.

Ellis Island is a former immigration inspection station. As the nation's busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 to 1954, it processed approximately 12 million immigrants to the United States in New York Harbor, within the states of New York and New Jersey.
